Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, winning just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks his maiden title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after that period of the previous year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 championships at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an improved serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour victory, took control to force a decider.

The opponent saved four early-game break points in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
